(Ahlul Bayt News Agency) - Speaking to hundreds of Iranian academics, lecturers, researchers, professors and intellectuals on Wednesday afternoon, in the fourth such meeting during the month of Ramadhan, Imam Khamenei talked about Iran's scientific and technological advancement, and the vital role Iranian universities have played in this advancement, as well as the significance of International Quds Day rallies and marches.
At the start of this meeting, 14 top academics and researchers talked for more than two hours about a variety of scientific, academic, political, economic, social, cultural, and research topics, presenting their points of views, criticisms, suggestions and solutions.
Turning to the International Quds Day, Imam Khamenei emphasized that this day is a truly international Islamic day, in the true sense of the word -- it is a very important day in which the Iranian nation and many other Muslim nations will loudly declare the truth – a truth which the arrogant powers don't want to hear, and they have invested heavily and spent more than 60 years trying to suppress this truth.
Imam Khamenei pointedly added: "Each and every Iranian who takes part in the world Quds Day rallies and marches, is in fact helping Iran's security, and contributing to safeguarding the Islamic revolution's achievements".
Imam Khamenei added: "This year too, with the blessings of God Almighty, International Quds Day rallies and marches will be held more gloriously than previous years, in Iran, as well as in all other Islamic countries".
Turning to Iran's scientific advancements, Imam Khamenei emphasized that Iranian universities and academics have played a very key and central role in bringing this about, and that Iran's scientific and technological advancements have made the Iranian nation proud, have given self-confidence to the Iranian people, making us more steadfast and resilient.
Elsewhere in his remarks, Imam Khamenei referred to the military, security, social and political threats posed by the enemies of Iran, and he also referred to the assassination of Iranian scientists and sanctions against Iran, adding: "The Iranian nation is steadfast against the enemies, standing up to them firmly and resolutely, and thanks to Iran's scientific and technological progress, the Iranian people have given a resounding "no" to the hegemonic powers and their excessive demands".
