He said: "The humanitarian catastrophe in Somalia is another case of the world mismanagement. If the US decided to pour thousand tons of bombs on Somalia, they would have done it in a single day, but unfortunately they demanded a month-long planning to send thousand tons of food stuff for the hungry people. This is the vital problem in the world management."
President Ahmadinejad added that over 100 million people have been killed in wars over the past century, as wrong policies have created a deep income gap and millions of people are suffering absolute poverty and are on the threshold of death.
The Iranian president questioned that “Why western countries failed to take timely action in dealing with current crisis in Somalia?”
He answered the question, saying: The fact is that since the western countries get no advantages form such an act, they have remained undecided.
Iran's Red Crescent Society has sent the second humanitarian aid shipment to Somalia to help with the relief of famine-stricken people of the African country. The shipment comprises of 48 tons of food and medication. Iran's fist aid shipment, which included 60 tons of food and medication, arrived in Somalia's capital of Mogadishu on March 21.
