The wife of Qatari Emir Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani, Qatar's minister of state for interior affairs and the country's prosecutor general will officially visit Iran in the near future, says Iran's Ambassador to Doha Abdollah Sohrabi.

(Ahlul Bayt News Agency) - The wife of the Qatari Emir has been invited to Iran by Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad's wife.

Sohrabi added that the trip by the Qatari Emir's wife was scheduled to take place on April 4, 2011, but was postponed due to regional developments.

Qatar's Minister of State for Interior Affairs Sheikh Abdullah bin Nasser Al Thani and Qatar's prosecutor general are also invited by their Iranian counterparts to pay official visits to Iran, the Iranian envoy added.

Sohrabi expressed hope that, following a recent visit by Iran's Foreign Minister Ali Akbar Salehi to Qatar, the planned trips by the King's wife and top officials will bolster Tehran-Doha ties.

Last week, Salehi made a one-day trip to Qatar, where he discussed regional developments and bilateral ties with Qatari Emir Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani, Crown Prince Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Sheikh Hamad bin Jassim bin Jabor Al Thani.
