The 98 films were chosen from over 200 submissions.
The three-day film festival, according to its own description, "highlights pro-women voices from within the Muslim world and present an unfiltered and honest account of these women's stories–the experiences that shaped their lives, the challenges that must be overcome before freedom and gender equality becomes the status quo, and the people who are making this transformation happen."
All the short films are available for viewing on WomensVoicesNow.org.
People from 139 countries participated in watching, commenting on, and rating these films. The top 98 films are the ones being screened at the festival this weekend.
Each screening is followed by Roundtable discussions providing further insight and context into the films.
In addition to themed film programs, the Festival includes book signings hosted by prominent authors, performance art pieces speaking to the issues addressed by the Festival and monitors playing the Festival's experimental films.
