(Ahlul Bayt News Agency) - He made the remark in a meeting with Iran’s Commerce Minister Mehdi Ghazanfari who is currently in Lebanon.
Hariri, who is currently in office due to transition of power, added that the next government will also support expansion of bilateral ties.
Ghazanfari, for his part, underlined development of relations between the two countries and said that Iran appreciates his government’s measures for paving the grounds for promoting two-way ties.
Ghazanfari also talked with the Lebanese Economy Minister Mohammad Safadi. During the meeting, the Lebanese side declared the onset of negotiations on free trade agreement with Iran.
Meanwhile, the Lebanese Prime Minister Najib Mikati told the minister that he wants Iran providing his country with technical and engineering services and expanding bilateral ties.
Ghazanfari also met President Michel Suleiman amd submitted President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad’s letter of invitation for Nowruz Feast.
Lebanese PM: Lebanon favors developing ties with Iran
Lebanese Prime Minister Najib Mikati said that his country favors using Iran’s technical and engineering services to implement infrastructure projects.
He made the remarks in a meeting with Iran’s visiting Commerce Minister Mehdi Ghazanfari.
Mikati and Ghazanfari discussed Lebanon’s political issues and regional developments.
Mikati expressed the new government of Lebanon’s readiness to implement the economic cooperation agreements signed earlier.
“We are prepared to convene the first meeting of Tehran-Beirut joint economic commission in presence of Iranian First Vice-President Mohammad Reza Rahimi in Beirut.”
He noted that Israel is enemy of both countries and is not willing to see the progress of the Muslim countries, especially Iran and Lebanon.
Ghazanfari said for his part that Iran is ready to help Lebanon solve its problems.
Meanwhile, Ghazanfari told reporters that Iran would like to speed up implementation of the agreements signed when former prime minister Saad Hariri was in office.
