The Israeli government will kick off works on Monday to raise an advanced fence costing NIS 1.35 billion aimed at keeping infiltrators from seeping into the country, Israeli Radio said.

OCCUPIED JERUSALEM (Ahlul Bayt News Agency) - The Israeli government will kick off works on Monday to raise an advanced fence costing NIS 1.35 billion aimed at keeping infiltrators from seeping into the country, Israeli Radio said.

Israeli security will install electronic sensors along other sections of the border to monitor those areas.

Israeli war minister Ehud Barak called the project a national priority, instructing senior officials in his ministry to see that the fence is finished as soon as possible.

Top Israeli war ministry official Udi Shani said the launch of the project was possible only a few months after it was approved by the government thanks to planning works and an accelerated bidding process.

Around 400 weekly illegal immigrants, most of them Africans in search of employment, attempt to sneak into Israel though the Egyptian border.
