Representative of Grand Ayatollah Sayyed Ali Al Sistani, Abdul Mehdi Al Karbalai, warned against ruling out any winning coalition from the new government.
In his Friday sermon at Al Imam Hussein Mosque in central Karbala, Al Karbalai called on all winning political coalitions to accelerate the formation of a new government in order to boost the confidence of Iraqis in democracy.
Ruling out any winning party from the new government threatens the democratic process in Iraq, Al Karbalai noted.
Delaying the formation of a new government might encourage armed groups to carry out attacks, he cautioned.
