Iranian Army Chief Awards 'Order of Sacrifice' to Family of Martyred General Abdolrahim Mousavi

On the occasion of Iran National Army Day, the Commander of the Army met with the family members of the late Chairman of the Chief of Staff of Iran’s Armed Forces, Major General Abdolrahim Mousavi, to present the "Order of Sacrifice" to the family of the martyred commander.

AhlulBayt News Agency: On the occasion of Iran National Army Day, the Commander of the Army met with the family members of the late Chairman of the Chief of Staff of Iran’s Armed Forces, Major General Abdolrahim Mousavi, to present the "Order of Sacrifice" to the family of the martyred commander.

Major General Amir Hatami, Commander-in-Chief of the Iranian Army, praised the martyr's family and lauded the courage and bravery of Major General Mousavi.

He stated that the martyred commander dedicated his whole life to enhancing national security, solidifying the country’s authority, strengthening its deterrent power, and defending the ideals of the Islamic Revolution.

There various medals to honor Iranian Army and Armed Forces, but the “Order of Sacrifice” holds a unique significance. First awarded by the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces and the martyred leader Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei to “Imam Ali Military University” in August 2020, the medal commemorates the university’s contribution of 1,184 martyrs to the Islamic Revolution during the eight-year Imposed War (1980-1988).
