AhlulBayt News Agency (ABNA): Hojat al-Islam Mohammad Mahdi Imanipour, the Head of the Policy Council for Interreligious Dialogue of the Islamic Republic of Iran, in a message addressed to Pope Leo XIV, the leader of the world's Catholics, while praising the Pope's courageous stance in condemning the offensive behavior of the U.S. president—behavior far removed from the teachings of Christianity—expressed appreciation for the Pope's positions in defense of global peace and the non-aggression against innocent people, and wished success and health for the Christian community of the world.
At the beginning of this message, he said, "May God's blessings be upon Jesus Christ (a.s.) and upon the true followers of that noble prophet! We live in a world where defending peace and preventing violence is met with opposition. Your courageous stance regarding the offensive behavior of the U.S. president, behavior far removed from the teachings of Christianity, is commendable. The positions you have taken as the authority of the universal Catholic Church in defense of global peace and the non-aggression against innocent people demonstrate your faith in truth and reality and your worthy representation of Christian believers who stand on the right side of history."
He added, "On behalf of the esteemed members of the Policy Council for Interreligious Dialogue of the Islamic Republic of Iran, who have strived for years in the path of dialogue and constructive engagement with followers of religions, I thank and appreciate your positions and wish success and health for Your Holiness and the Christian community worldwide."
