AhlulBayt News Agency: As the Islamic Republic continues to solidify its popular resistance against the recent US-Israeli military aggression, the holy city of Qom is set to host a significant international academic symposium examining the Western perspective on Iran's steadfastness.
The event, titled "The Perspective of American Academic Communities and the Public Regarding the Iranian Nation's Resistance to the US-Zionist Invasion," will be held at the Masoumiyeh School in Qom on Wednesday, April 15, 2026.
Bridging the Gap Between Western Academia and the Axis of Resistance
The symposium aims to analyze and deconstruct the discourse surrounding the Ramadan war, specifically focusing on how the Iranian nation's defensive posture is being received and interpreted within the United States' academic circles and civil society.
The session will be headlined by Dr. Patrick Olivera, a faculty member at the University of Guayana in Latin America, who will provide an outside-in analysis of the shifting tides in American public opinion and scholarly critique regarding Washington's military adventurism in West Asia. The presentation will be translated by Hojatoleslam Mirjafari, a professor at Al-Mustafa International University.
The discussion will be moderated by Hojatoleslam Sakhavatian, a faculty member at Islamic Azad University.
A Multi-Institutional Initiative
The symposium represents an effort by Iran's premier religious and academic institutions to internationalize the conversation on legitimate defense and the failures of American foreign policy. The event is organized under the auspices of the International Complex of Islamic Seminaries and the International Research Center of Islamic Seminaries, in collaboration with:
Islamic Azad University of Qom
The International Affairs Center of Teachers’’ University
Teachers’ University of Khuzestan
Al-Mustafa International University
The Humanities Campus of Islamic Azad University
Participation and Credentials
The event is open to the public and will be accessible online via the Teachers’ University webinar platform. Organizers have announced that certificates of attendance will be issued to participants, granting academic and cultural credits applicable within the Iranian higher education system.
This symposium follows a series of international gatherings aimed at countering Western media narratives and highlighting what organizers describe as a global awakening to the legitimacy of the Iranian people's resistance against foreign intervention and Zionist expansionism.
