Trump's Threat Against Iran Could Be the "Key Exhibit" in a War Crimes Court

A professor of law at Yale University and a prominent expert in international law emphasized that if Donald Trump's recent threat is carried out, his post on Truth Social could be cited as the "key exhibit" in potential war crimes trials.

AhlulBayt News Agency (ABNA): Oona Hathaway, a professor of law at Yale University in the United States, reacting to Donald Trump's recent threat against Iran, stated that if this threat is executed, his message on Truth Social will be used as a pivotal piece of evidence in future international prosecutions.

Hathaway wrote in a post on social media, "If Trump follows through on his threat, this post will be 'Exhibit A' in future war crimes trials." She further emphasized, "Unfortunately, those who follow patently illegal orders are most likely to be held accountable."

This international law professor, noting that war crimes trials may take years to conclude, added, "There is no statute of limitations for such crimes, and it sometimes takes decades for justice to be served." She emphasized, "Perhaps not in three years, or five years, or ten years, but eventually those who are responsible will have to answer."
