Iran FM Spox: US, Israeli Regime Have Committed Crimes That Eclipse History’s Worst Tyrants

ABNA24 - The spokesperson for Iran’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs stressed that over the past 38 days, the United States and the Israeli regime have committed crimes that make even history’s greatest criminals pale in comparison—atrocities without precedent even under Hitler.

Esmail Baqaei stated during his weekly press briefing on Monday that in just the last 12 hours, the US and Israel have perpetrated heinous acts: six children—four girls and two boys—were martyred in enemy attacks in the city of Qom, and Sharif University of Technology was struck with bunker-buster bombs.Baqaei noted that this marks the fifth university to be attacked within a single month. Strikes on scientific and research centers, as well as schools, signify nothing but the US and Israeli regime’s opposition to and spite for anything that has been—and remains—the foundation of progress and development in Iran.Regarding reports of a ceasefire and an end to the ongoing war, whether any new plan exists to halt hostilities, and Iran’s response to the rhetoric of US President Donald Trump, the Foreign Ministry spokesman said: “Recently, a so-called 15-point proposal was conveyed through Pakistan and some other friendly countries. At the time, we made it clear that these proposals were unconventional, illogical, and excessively demanding.”According to Baqaei, the actions taken by the US over the past year have left no credibility for diplomacy. He also reminded that “negotiation is in no way compatible with ultimatums, atrocity, or threats to commit war crimes. The Islamic Republic of Iran and the Iranian people have a very bitter experience negotiating with the US—experiences we did not gain easily to now disregard lightly.”

He added, “To threaten a country with attacks on its energy and industrial infrastructure at various intervals, while simultaneously giving the green light to the Israeli regime to strike civilian targets either with your cooperation or on its own, constitutes a war crime under international humanitarian law and the Rome Statute of the International Criminal Court.”Baqaei continued: “Any country that in any way assists or participates in the commission of these crimes must be held accountable. All nations should know that any form of accompaniment or cooperation with the United States in carrying out its crimes will be subject to accountability and prosecution.”
