ABNA24 - Iranian Parliament Speaker Mohammad Baqer Qalibaf linked US War Secretary Pete Hegseth's dismissing high-ranking generals to their defying the Pentagon chief's betraying American lives in favor of the Zionist regime.
"Battle-tested generals refuse to be yes-men for a TV host selling out American lives for Israel's delusions," Qalibaf wrote on X on Saturday, referring to Hegseth's past experience in television.
US Army Chief of Staff Randy George was fired on Thursday by Hegseth—a major staffing change that comes as American military fights a major war in West Asia.Qalibaf was also referencing the Israeli regime's widely reported agitation of the United States towards forcing it to join Tel Aviv in the duo's latest bout of unprovoked assault against Tehran.The remarks came as the aggression has significantly strained Washington's resources, proven deadly for its soldiers, and resulted in a strategic quandary for American officials.
The top legislator described American forces' paying for the war with their lives as the "short-term price" of the Israeli-instigated onslaught.The war's long-term cost would be "American taxpayers paying at the pump for decades", Qalibaf added."Real LEGACY," the speaker concluded, in an ironic reference to how the offensive had backfired, contrary to Washington’s expectations.
