Zahedan, Sistan and Balouchestan Prov, Feb 23 – Residents of this southeastern province start celebrating after they heard about the arrest of the notorious terrorist gang leader, Abdolmalek Rigi, on Tuesday.
Rigi was involved in the killing and kidnapping of dozens of innocent civilian and non-civilian Iranians in this southeastern province where he made most of his terrorist attacks.
Killing of 25 passengers in front of the eyes of their children and family members during an ambush in Zabol-Zahedan road in 2005 after stopping their bus is just one of the many cases of Rigi’s crimes against civilians in Sistan and Balouchestan province.
He was also involved in a large number of explosions which occurred in the streets of Zahedan and other provincial cities.
Zahedan’s Shiite and Sunni residents are celebrating Rigi’s arrest by making phone calls or sending congratulatory messages on their cell phones.
A large number of locals also contacted the News Agencies office in Zahedan since Tuesday morning to express their feeling and happiness about the terrorist gang leader’s arrest.
“Rigi has committed many crimes against innocent people in the province and his arrest is a source of happiness for the provincial residents and all Iranians as well,” Mohammad Miri, a resident of this provincial capital city told IRNA.
Zahed Sheikhi, brother of one of the Rigi’s victims, told IRNA, “The criminal was arrested by the will of God who seeks the revenge of all the oppressed.”
