Grand Ayatollah Nouri Hamedani: Iranian People's Millions-Strong Turnout 'Honor to Martyred Leader'

A senior Iranian cleric says the massive turnout of millions of people across the country is a testament to their deep reverence for the martyred Leader, Grand Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei, as the nation rallies behind his successor.

ABNA24 - A senior Iranian cleric says the massive turnout of millions of people across the country is a testament to their deep reverence for the martyred Leader, Grand Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei, as the nation rallies behind his successor.

Grand Ayatollah Hossein Nouri Hamedani made the remarks during a meeting with Hojatoleslam Mohammad Mohammadi-Golpayegani, the chief of staff of the martyred Leader, praising the late Leader's 37-year stewardship of the Islamic Revolution.

"During his 37 years of leadership, he was able to pursue the same goals envisioned by the late Founder of the Islamic Revolution, Imam Khomeini, and guide the Islamic Ummah in the best possible way, preserving the Islamic system with grandeur and dignity," the revered cleric stated.

Ayatollah Nouri Hamedani highlighted the unprecedented scenes of public mourning and allegiance witnessed across Iranian cities since the Leader's passing.

"The people who fill the streets night after day are doing so to honor and appreciate that martyr," he said, describing the spontaneous gatherings as a reflection of the nation's profound spiritual connection to the Leader who guided them for nearly four decades.

Full Support for New Leader

Expressing satisfaction with the timely and appropriate election by the Assembly of Experts, the senior cleric emphasized the religious obligation to support the newly chosen Leader, Ayatollah Seyyed Mojtaba Khamenei.

"We all have a duty to support this selection and strive to strengthen him. God willing, with the qualifications we know him to possess, he will succeed and the enemies of Iran will be disappointed," Ayatollah Nouri Hamedani asserted.

The cleric further pledged his personal prayers for all servants of the Islamic system, particularly the new Leader, during this critical transitional period.

Praise for Loyal Service

During the meeting, Ayatollah Nouri Hamedani also paid tribute to Hojatoleslam Mohammadi-Golpayegani for his decades of loyal service alongside the martyred Leader.

"Over all these years that you have been alongside the Leader, you have rendered great services. What I myself witnessed and can testify to is the trust the Leader placed in you, as well as your honesty and loyalty to that great martyr. We are grateful," he stated.

Mohammadi-Golpayegani, who served as chief of staff throughout the Leader's 37-year reign, expressed relief at the senior cleric's recovery from recent illness and extended gratitude for his "wise, timely and transparent positions" in support of the Islamic establishment.

Nation United Behind Leadership

The senior cleric's remarks come amid widespread displays of public allegiance to the new Leader, with millions participating in mourning processions and pledge ceremonies across the country. Religious authorities have framed support for the succession as both a political and religious obligation, ensuring continuity of the Islamic system.

The meeting concluded with prayers for the success of the new Leader and the defeat of Iran's adversaries, as the nation navigates this historic leadership transition while facing intensified external pressures.
