AhlulBayt News Agency: The Director General of World Heritage Sites at Iran’s Ministry of Cultural Heritage, Tourism, and Handicrafts says that at least 56 museums, historical monuments, and cultural sites in various provinces across the country have suffered significant damage due to the aggression of the Zionist regime and the United States against Iran.
In an interview on Sunday, Farhad Azizi said, “In Tehran province, unique monuments such as the Golestan Palace, the historic Arg of Tehran, the Tehran Grand Bazaar, the Marble Palace, the historic Shahrbani Mansion, the former Senate building, the Sepahsalar Mosque, and the Farahabad Palace-Museum have all been targeted in direct attacks.”
He added, “In Kordestan province, 12 prominent buildings have been damaged, including the Salar-Saeid Mansion (Sanandaj Archaeology Museum), the Khosrowabad Museum, and the Asef Vaziri Mansion.”
Azizi noted, “In Isfahan province, the Naqsh-e Jahan Square complex, which is registered on the World Heritage List, along with the Chehel Sotoun Palace, the Abbasi Grand Mosque, and parts of the historical city of Isfahan, have been targeted."
He also added, “In Lorestan province, the historic Falak-ol-Aflak Fortress and its associated museums have suffered damage.”
Referring to Kermanshah province, Azizi said that the Biglarbeigi Tekyeh and the historical Kazzazi High School had also been targeted in the US-Israeli attacks.
He added, “In Bushehr province, the Sabzabad Mansion and the historic White House in the port of Siraf have been damaged.”
He further noted that the Archaeology Museum of Darreh-Shahr in Ilam province has been targeted by the American-Zionist enemies.
