Five hospitals destroyed in recent US-Israeli aggression against Iran

A member of the Health and Treatment Commission of the Parliament says that five hospitals and medical centers were destroyed during the terrorist attack and blatant aggression against Iran by the Israeli regime and the United States.

AhlulBayt News Agency: A member of the Health and Treatment Commission of the Parliament says that five hospitals and medical centers were destroyed during the terrorist attack and blatant aggression against Iran by the Israeli regime and the United States.

Consequently, a number of these medical centers have been evacuated due to the possibility of further attacks, Fatemeh Mohammad-Beigi told IRNA on Monday.

Unfortunately, this illegal aggression resulted not only in the destruction of hospital buildings and medical centers but also in the injury of a number of students and local residents, she added.

Rescuers from the Red Crescent Society of the Islamic Republic of Iran and the country's emergency medical services personnel are active in all provinces, she noted.

The process of relief operations, rubble removal, and transferring the injured is being carried out with speed and full coordination, Mohammad-Beigi stated.

She went on to say that in all provinces, a number of hospital beds have been reserved for emergency situations, and the country's medical supplies and drug reserves are under constant monitoring.

Following a projectile strike in the vicinity of Tehran’s Gandhi Hospital on March 1, 2026, the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) of this medical center has sustained serious damage.

In addition to this hospital, several nearby residential buildings have also been damaged.

Meanwhile, Director-General of the World Health Organization (WHO) Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus in a X post said: “Reports of Tehran's Gandhi Hospital being damaged during today’s bombardment of the Iranian capital are extremely worrying.”

“WHO is working to verify the incident. But it serves as a reminder that all efforts must be taken to prevent health facilities from being caught up in the ongoing conflict,” he stated.

“Health facilities are protected under international humanitarian law. Health is #NotATarget,” he noted.

Ayatollah Khamenei was martyred following an attack by the Israeli regime and the United States on Saturday morning, February 28, 2026.

The Cabinet has declared 40 days of public mourning and seven days of holidays following the martyrdom of the Leader of the Revolution.
