OIC welcomes Oman‑mediated Iran–US diplomatic engagement

The OIC foreign ministers welcomed Oman‑mediated talks between Iran and the US, stressing diplomacy as the only path to stability. The communiqué warned against threats of force and condemned Israel’s ongoing violations in the occupied Palestinian territories.

AhlulBayt News Agency: The foreign ministers of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) welcomed the recent Oman‑mediated diplomatic engagement between Iran and the United States, describing it as a constructive step toward easing tensions.

In a communiqué issued after an emergency meeting of the OIC Executive Committee in Jeddah, the ministers voiced support for all initiatives aimed at preventing escalation and promoting regional stability.

The statement warned of increasing threats of force against Iran and highlighted the growing military buildup across the region, cautioning that rising tensions could further destabilize an already fragile environment.

It reaffirmed that any threat or use of force against a sovereign state violates international law and Article 2(4) of the UN Charter, stressing that diplomacy and peaceful dialogue remain the only viable path to lasting peace.

The latest round of Iran–US talks took place earlier in the day in Geneva, Switzerland.

Meanwhile, US President Donald Trump has intensified pressure on Iran by combining verbal threats with a significant expansion of American military presence in the region.

Iran has reiterated that it will not yield to excessive US demands and warned that it will respond decisively to any renewed aggression by Washington or its allies.

The OIC communiqué also condemned Israeli atrocities in the occupied Palestinian territories.

Requested by the State of Palestine, the meeting saw ministers denounce Israel’s attempts to impose an “illegal occupation reality” in the West Bank, including al‑Quds.

The bloc declared Israel’s recent settlement expansion and annexation measures “null and void,” calling for their immediate reversal.
