Pakistan: Israel's Attempt to Form Alliance against Muslim Countries is Shameful

Pakistan’s Senate has passed a resolution strongly condemning remarks by Israel’s prime minister about a reported plan to form an alliance against Muslims, including both Shia and Sunni communities, calling the move shameful.

AhlulBayt News Agency (ABNA): Pakistan’s Senate has passed a resolution strongly condemning remarks by Israel’s prime minister about a reported plan to form an alliance against Muslims, including both Shia and Sunni communities, calling the move shameful.

The resolution was unanimously approved on Tuesday. Lawmakers reaffirmed their commitment to supporting the Palestinian people and opposing what they described as Israel’s imperialist plans.

According to the text of the resolution, the Senate strongly condemned what it called Israel’s continued violations of the Gaza ceasefire, as well as a statement made on February 22, 2026, by Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu about plans to create a regional alliance with the participation of India and other countries to counter what he referred to as a “radical Shia and Sunni axis.” The resolution stated that such actions go against international law, the United Nations Charter, and the advisory opinion of the International Court of Justice (ICJ).

Senators also criticized what they described as attempts by Israeli leaders to weaken the unity of the Muslim world. They condemned any Israeli efforts to change the legal or historical status of the occupied Palestinian territories, including the status of holy sites, the West Bank, the expansion of illegal settlements, and encouragement of settler violence.

The resolution further rejected Israel’s reported decision to recognize the independence of the self-declared region of Somaliland within the Federal Republic of Somalia. It called on the international community to end what it described as Israel’s impunity and to hold it accountable for alleged crimes against humanity.

Pakistani senators also demanded Israel’s full withdrawal from the occupied territories and called for the uninterrupted delivery of humanitarian aid to Palestinians under siege in Gaza, including through the UN agency UNRWA, as well as the early start of reconstruction efforts in the region.
