Academic Seminar Examines Role of Religious Institution in Stability of Iran’s Political System

The Imam Hasan al-Askari (a.s.) Center in Iraq hosted a seminar on the role of religious institutions in strengthening the resilience and stability of Iran’s political system.

AhlulBayt News Agency (ABNA): The Imam Hasan al-Askari Center in Iraq held an academic seminar titled “The Role of Religious Institutions in Strengthening the Immunity and Stability of Iran’s Political System.”

During the session, Sayed Zeinal Mousavi delivered a lecture examining the emergence of secularism in Europe and the concept of divine sovereignty in the Holy Qur’an. He then referred to the establishment of the Islamic state in Medina, the event of Ghadir, and the role of jurists during the Occultation of Imam Mahdi (a.s.).

He also addressed the victory of the Islamic Revolution under the leadership of Ruhollah Khomeini (r.a.) and the articulation of the theory of Velayat-e Faqih by him. Following this framework, key institutions such as the Leadership, the Assembly of Experts, the Guardian Council, and the Islamic Consultative Assembly were formed, alongside military bodies including the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps and the Basij forces.

In conclusion, the speaker emphasized that the strength of Iran’s system stems from the linkage of these institutions with a religious outlook and their reliance on divine support, citing a Qur’anic verse in this regard. The seminar concluded with academic discussions and contributions from participants.
