AhlulBayt News Agency: The Austrian capital Vienna is set to host, for the first time, the international conference on Iranian-Islamic Civilization on February 18-19.
The two-day event which is held in both presence and inline is co-organized by Iran’s Foreign Ministry and the Iranology Foundation of Shahid Beheshti University The event features keynote speeches by a number of distinguished Iranian and Austrian Iranologists and online academic panels presentation of 15 selected papers by leading professors and researchers in Iranian studies.
Reza Gholami, Iran’s Cultural Attache in Austria noted that the conference is in line with the efforts by Iran’s cultural office in Austria to promote Iranology, studying different aspects of the great Iranian-Islamic civilization.
Regarding the central role of Austria as a hub of Iran studies in Europe, the conference will turn into a turning point in cultural and scientific relations between the two countries.
The main themes of the conference include:
1-Identity and the spirit of Iranian-Islamic civilization
2-Essential components of Iranian-Islamic civilization
3-charachteristics, distinctions and civilizational turning points of Iranian-Islamic civilization
4- Iran and the question of nationality
5- Iranian Islamic civilization: Unity in diversity
6-iranian civilization and the question of development
7-Iran as the cradle of wisdom and philosophy
8-the concrete emergence of Iranian-Islamic civilization
9- an examination of the Iranshahr theory
10-reciprocal relationship between Islam and Iran
Also at the event, the first book award in honor of professor Bert Fragner (founder of Iranology Institute in Austria) will be presented in addition to launching the book Austrian Ironologists.
