AhlulBayt News Agency: The Indonesian capital, Jakarta, has hosted a ceremony to celebrate the 47th anniversary of the Islamic Revolution, which brought together Iranian intellectuals and residents in that country, as well as senior Indonesian officials and foreign ambassadors to Jakarta.
The ceremony was held on Saturday, and attended by Iranian Ambassador Mohammad Boroujerdi who elaborated on ideals and achievements of the 1979 Islamic Revolution in Iran.
He also stressed the importance of safeguarding Iran’s national independence and its resilience against Israel and the US, especially after the 12-day war they launched against Iran in June last year.
Boroujerdi also highlighted the importance of expanding cooperation between Iran and Indonesia in political, economic, cultural, and scientific fields.
Arifatul Choiri Fauzi, Indonesia’s Minister of Women Empowerment and Children Protection, took part in the ceremony on behalf of the Indonesian government. She expressed congratulations on the anniversary of the Islamic Republic, emphasizing the determination of both sides to develop bilateral cooperation.
Iran and Indonesia established diplomatic ties more than 75 years ago, and have developed their relations in different political, economic, and cultural fields, based on mutual respect over these years.
