AhlulBayt News Agency (ABNA): Authorities in India’s Rajasthan state have ordered two British tourists to leave the country after they allegedly put up pro-Palestine posters, officials said.
According to the state’s Criminal Investigation Department (CID), the two tourists displayed posters bearing the slogans “Free Palestine” and “Boycott Israel” at several locations, including the tourist city of Pushkar.
Rajasthan CID officials said the actions violated the terms of the tourists’ visas, which, according to authorities, prohibit foreign nationals from engaging in political activities while in India.
Official notices requiring the two British citizens to depart the country were issued under the Immigration and Foreigners Act 2025, the report said.
Meanwhile, some political analysts say the Indian government has intensified public monitoring of expressions of solidarity with Palestine. According to those analysts, individuals who have publicly voiced support for Palestine, shared related content, or displayed Palestinian flags have faced detention or other action by authorities.
Several protest gatherings have also reportedly been canceled, even as large demonstrations in support of Palestinians have taken place in many countries around the world.
The tightening of such restrictions has raised questions about the government’s approach toward pro-Palestine supporters, particularly amid reports that more than 71,000 people have been killed following repeated ceasefire violations attributed to Israel.
