Israeli forces kill 72 Palestinians, target aid centers in Gaza

Israeli forces killed 72 Palestinians in Gaza, including children and aid seekers near food centers.

AhlulBayt News Agency: Israeli forces have killed at least 72 Palestinians across the Gaza Strip, including children and civilians near humanitarian aid centers, in a series of deadly attacks. Medical sources reported that strikes targeted multiple areas, including the Zeitoun and Sabra neighborhoods and al-Zawiya market, leaving hospitals overwhelmed with wounded victims.

Many of the injured, including children, were left lying on the ground due to a shortage of hospital beds. Several of the victims were aid seekers killed near food distribution centers operated by the controversial Gaza Humanitarian Foundation (GHF) north of Rafah.

Since the GHF—backed by Israel and the United States—took over limited aid operations in late May, Israeli forces have repeatedly opened fire on Palestinians near these centers. According to Gaza’s Government Media Office, over 580 people have been killed and more than 4,000 injured in such incidents.

A report by Haaretz cited unnamed Israeli soldiers who admitted receiving orders to shoot at Palestinians gathering for aid to “disperse” them. These revelations have intensified criticism of Israel’s conduct in Gaza.

Meanwhile, the humanitarian crisis continues to worsen. Infants are dying daily due to malnutrition, and hospitals lack essential supplies. Australian nurse Christy Black reported that pregnant women requiring nasogastric feeding are unable to lactate due to the absence of proper nutrition and baby formula.

The Integrated Food Security Phase Classification (IPC) system has classified the entire population of Gaza under Level 4 famine, indicating widespread starvation, death, and extreme deprivation.
