AhlulBayt News Agency: The Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) has strongly denounced the recent Israeli and U.S. strikes on Iran, describing them as violations of the United Nations Charter and serious threats to both regional and global stability.
In a joint statement issued following a ministerial meeting in Kyrgyzstan on Monday, the CSTO’s foreign ministers condemned the attacks, asserting that such military actions dangerously escalate tensions in the Middle East and erode fundamental principles of international law, according to Russia’s TASS news agency.
According to IRNA, the ministers extended condolences to the families of the victims and emphasized that assaults on civilian infrastructure—including nuclear energy facilities—constitute a grave breach of international legal norms.
The statement warned that these acts significantly raise the risk of regional destabilization and could lead to far-reaching consequences for global peace and security.
Highlighting broader concerns, the CSTO ministers underscored that strikes on nuclear sites operating under International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) safeguards jeopardize ongoing efforts to establish a zone free of weapons of mass destruction in the Middle East.
They called for an immediate halt to coercive actions and urged all parties to refrain from targeting Iran’s nuclear facilities, which, they stressed, have consistently operated under IAEA monitoring.
