AhlulBayt News Agency: Air raid sirens were activated across several areas in the Israeli-occupied territories after the Yemeni Armed Forces launched a ballistic missile in retaliation for Israel’s ongoing war on Gaza.
Israeli media reported that the missile triggered alarms in Beersheba, Dimona, and nearby towns in the southern region on Saturday morning.
There were no immediate reports of casualties or damage, though the Israeli military claimed its air defense systems were attempting to intercept the missile.
Abdul-Malik al-Houthi, leader of Yemen’s Ansarullah movement, stated on Thursday that Yemeni forces have launched 309 ballistic and hypersonic missiles and drones at Israeli targets since mid-March.
He said 25 of those attacks occurred this month alone, describing them as “qualitative military operations in support of Gaza.”
Al-Houthi reiterated that the Red Sea remains closed to Israeli-linked maritime traffic as part of Yemen’s strategic blockade.
He condemned Israel’s continued offensive in Gaza, accusing it of committing atrocities with US support.
The blockade aims to disrupt military shipments to Israel and pressure the international community to address the humanitarian crisis in Gaza.
The Yemeni Armed Forces have vowed to continue their attacks until Israel halts its ground and air operations in Gaza, where over 56,300 Palestinians have been killed since October 7, 2023.
