AhlulBayt News Agency: Major General Hossein Salami, commander of Iran’s Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC), has declared that Israel lacks any independent political, economic, or military identity, asserting that the regime is entirely reliant on the United States for its survival.
Speaking on Tuesday during a meeting in Tehran with Jamil Mezher, deputy secretary-general of the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine (PFLP), Salami emphasized that Israel is globally isolated and widely despised, claiming it holds no legitimate place in the international geopolitical landscape.
According to IRNA, he further alleged that Israeli officials avoid traveling abroad—except to the United States—due to arrest warrants issued by the International Criminal Court (ICC) against Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and former defense minister Yoav Gallant for alleged war crimes in Gaza.
Referring to Operation Al-Aqsa Storm, launched by Hamas on October 7, 2023, Salami said the offensive exposed Israel’s vulnerabilities and demonstrated that the regime could be swiftly overwhelmed despite its use of overwhelming force. He expressed confidence that the Palestinian resistance in Gaza would ultimately triumph, citing their growing strength and determination.
Jamil Mezher echoed these sentiments, stating that the operation fundamentally altered the dynamics of the conflict and shattered the myth of Israel’s military invincibility. He argued that Israel’s continued existence hinges on Western support, particularly from the United States, and that without it, the regime would have already collapsed.
