Imam Khomeini’s struggle: Beyond dictatorship — Battle against Intellectual, Cultural, and Imperial oppression - MWM

The Women’s Wing of Majlis Wahdat-e-Muslimeen (MWM) organized a thought-provoking gathering in Peshawar to mark the death anniversary of Imam Ruhollah Khomeini, highlighting his revolutionary ideology and the ongoing relevance of his struggle against all forms of oppression.

AhlulBayt News Agency: On the occasion of the death anniversary of Imam Ruhollah Al-Musawi Al-Khomeini (RA), founder of the Islamic Revolution of Iran and a towering figure of resistance in modern history, the Women’s Wing of Majlis Wahdat-e-Muslimeen (MWM) organized a profound intellectual session titled “Khomeini: The Idol Breaker” at Imambargah Ali Raza in Peshawar.

The event brought together a diverse group of conscious, committed, and intellectually active women from the community to reflect on the philosophical and ideological legacy of Imam Khomeini.

District President of MWM Peshawar, Ms. Samana, and the Central Secretary of Public Relations for MWM Women’s Wing, Ms. Zainab Bint al-Huda Naqvi, delivered insightful addresses.

They highlighted not only the historical and ideological backdrop of the Islamic Revolution but also emphasized the enduring relevance of Imam Khomeini’s concept of "idol-breaking" in contemporary society.

Speakers stressed that Imam Khomeini’s struggle was not limited to overthrowing a monarchical or political dictatorship. Rather, it was a battle against every oppressive intellectual, cultural, and imperial force that strips humanity of its essence, dignity, and freedom.

Referring to the challenges of the modern world, the speakers pointed out that new idols have emerged in the form of imperialism, intellectual slavery, and cultural invasions disguised under the glitter of media and consumerism. They argued that confronting these modern-day idols requires the same revolutionary spirit, awareness, and courage that Imam Khomeini embodied.

Ms. Zainab Bint al-Huda Naqvi particularly emphasized the vital role of women in shaping society through faith and resistance. She noted, “Awakened and faithful women today, if they align themselves with the vision of Imam Khomeini, can become powerful agents of change in society and beacons of guidance for future generations.”

The event served as a call to action for women to embrace intellectual resistance and contribute meaningfully to a society grounded in justice, awareness, and spiritual resilience.
