AhlulBayt News Agency: An Iranian official has highlighted Imam Khomeini’s revolutionary stance on resistance, emphasizing that the late founder of the Islamic Republic made Palestine the Muslim world’s top priority.
Ali Reza Moaf, the research and planning deputy of the Islamic Development Coordination Council, stated in an interview ahead of the 36th anniversary of Imam Khomeini’s passing that prior to the Islamic Revolution, efforts were made to erase the Palestinian issue, but Imam Khomeini prevented this.
Moaf explained that Imam Khomeini’s initiative to designate the last Friday of Ramadan as International Quds Day, along with the Islamic Republic’s steadfast policy on Palestine, has solidified the issue as the foremost concern of the Islamic world.
He also discussed the upcoming Hajj pilgrimage, emphasizing Imam Khomeini’s transformative perspective on Hajj, which brought attention to its political and anti-arrogance dimensions.
Moaf stressed the necessity of using Hajj as a tool of public diplomacy to expose the reality of American human rights.
He further noted that if Muslims recognize the significance of Hajj, it can serve as a unique opportunity for Bira’at min-al-Mushrikeen (disavowal of disbelievers).
Ayatollah Ruhollah Moussavi Khomeini, widely known as Imam Khomeini, led Iran’s 1979 Islamic Revolution, which resulted in the overthrow of the US-backed Shah.
Born in 1902, Imam Khomeini became the iconic leader of Iran’s struggle against monarchical tyranny in the 1970s.
He passed away on June 3, 1989, at the age of 87.
