AhlulBayt News Agency: The Palestinian Health Ministry has reported that the death toll from Israel’s ongoing war on Gaza has reached at least 53,901 since October 2023.
According to Anadolu, in its latest statement issued Saturday, the ministry confirmed that 79 bodies were recovered in the past 24 hours, while 211 people sustained injuries, bringing the total number of wounded to 122,593.
The statement also warned that many victims remain trapped under rubble and on the streets, as rescuers struggle to reach them due to the relentless Israeli bombardment.
Israeli forces resumed their assaults on the Gaza Strip on March 18, breaking a ceasefire and prisoner exchange agreement that had been in place since January. Since the renewed attacks, an additional 3,747 Palestinians have been killed, with nearly 10,600 others wounded.
International legal action against Israel is intensifying, as the International Criminal Court (ICC) issued arrest warrants last November for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and former Defense Minister Yoav Gallant on charges of war crimes and crimes against humanity in Gaza.
Moreover, Israel is facing a genocide case at the International Court of Justice (ICJ) over its ongoing military campaign, further heightening global scrutiny of its actions in the besieged enclave.
