AhlulBayt News Agency: The staff of the Shrines' Grids and Doors Manufacturing Department at the Al-Abbas's (p) Holy Shrine have begun the restoration work on the old grid of the Occultation Chamber at the Askariyayn Holy Shrine.
The head of the department; Mr. Nadhem al-Gharabi, said, "Our staff, under the guidance of the religious official of the holy shrine; His Eminence Sayed Ahmad al-Safi, have begun the restoration work on the old grid of the Occultation Chamber in the Askariyayn Holy Shrine, which is over 840 years old and considered one of the important historical landmarks."
He added that "initial inspections showed that the damage exceeded 90% due to the passage of time and other factors," noting that "the restoration work will be carried out by purely Iraqi hands according to the highest international technical standards approved in this field."
He confirmed, "After the restoration work on the grid is completed, it will be returned to the Askariyayn Holy Shrine, as it is considered an artifact and a witness to the extent of the assaults that the shrines of the Imams of the Ahl al-Bayt (peace be upon them) have faced over time."
