AhlulBayt News Agency: Muneer Alboursh, director general of the Palestinian health ministry in Gaza, has stated that Israel killed 12 health workers in the past week, many of them in targeted attacks on their homes.
Alboursh emphasized that the victims included highly skilled nurses and medics, particularly those working in intensive care units. Some were killed along with their entire families.
He accused Israel of systematically targeting medical personnel and facilities, especially in northern Gaza, in an effort to dismantle the healthcare system and force people to relocate further south.
His remarks came just days after Israel’s finance minister declared that the regime was “finally” targeting what he described as the “civilian structure of Hamas.”
Since October 7, 2023, Israel has launched a military campaign in Gaza, killing at least 53,762 Palestinians, according to the Gaza health ministry.
In January, Israel was forced to agree to a ceasefire deal with Hamas after failing to achieve its stated objectives, including eliminating the Palestinian resistance and securing the release of captives.
The 42-day truce, which was repeatedly violated by Israel, expired on March 1. Since then, Israel has refused to engage in negotiations for the second phase of the agreement.
On March 18, Israel resumed airstrikes on Gaza, officially ending the nearly two-month-long ceasefire.
