Euro-Med Monitor: 26 Palestinians die in Gaza within 24 hours due to starvation

Euro-Med Human Rights Monitor reports that 26 Palestinians, including 9 children, died in Gaza within 24 hours due to starvation and lack of medical care. The organization warns that the humanitarian crisis is reaching catastrophic levels. It calls for immediate global action to stop the genocide.

AhlulBayt News Agency: The Euro-Med Human Rights Monitor reported on Tuesday that 26 Palestinians, including 9 children, have died in Gaza within the past 24 hours due to starvation and lack of medical care. The organization warned that the death toll is rising at an alarming rate.

In its statement, the Geneva-based human rights group highlighted a sharp increase in deaths among elderly individuals, patients, and children. It attributed this to deadly living conditions deliberately imposed by Israel, aimed at exhausting and harming the population.

These conditions, the organization stated, include intentional starvation, extreme suffering, and systematic denial of medical care, alongside an ongoing comprehensive blockade.

Euro-Med also noted that the lack of an effective monitoring mechanism within Gaza’s Ministry of Health has led to many of these deaths being recorded as natural causes, even though they were preventable.

The organization’s field team documented harrowing testimonies from elderly individuals who had been forcibly displaced in recent hours while suffering from severe hunger.

In addition, Euro-Med emphasized that there is no tangible evidence proving that humanitarian aid, which Israel claimed to have allowed into Gaza, actually reached its destination. It further stated that the amount of aid permitted is vastly insufficient compared to the daily urgent needs of the population.

The report warned that repeated displacement under heavy bombardment is worsening the hunger crisis, causing residents to lose what little stockpiled canned food they may have had—if any.

Euro-Med described the humanitarian crisis in Gaza as catastrophic, stating that hunger has now reached all segments of society.

The organization called on governments worldwide to fulfill their legal responsibilities and take immediate action to stop what it labeled as an ongoing genocide in Gaza.

Finally, Euro-Med urged the international community to impose economic, diplomatic, and military sanctions on Israel in response to its systematic violations of international law.
