AhlulBayt News Agency: The third edition of the European International Quran Memorization Competition for senior participants has concluded in Rijeka, Croatia. Sweden’s Muhammad Abdi secured first place, followed by Othman Najdeh from Lebanon in second and Barry Suleiman Abu Bakr from Guinea in third.

The event was hosted by the Islamic Cultural Center of Rijeka and organized by the Croatian Islamic Community. It brought together participants from 20 countries across Europe, Asia, and Africa, celebrating Quran memorization among senior competitors.

The competition was held in cooperation with Qatar’s Sheikh Jassim bin Mohammed bin Thani Holy Quran Competition, with Qatar providing support in its organization and participation.

This unique event focuses on Quran memorizers over the age of 35, offering them an international platform to showcase their dedication to the Quran later in life. Organizers emphasized that the goal is to "strengthen the connection to the Holy Quran at all stages of life."

Following the senior competition, the "Generation of the Quran" event for youth attracted around 300 participants from various Croatian cities. The program included Quranic recitations, cultural activities, and strong community engagement.
