Afghan Shia scholars emphasize justice in meeting with Taliban deputy PM

During the meeting, with Abdul Salam Hanafi, the administrative deputy prime minister of the Taliban government Shia scholars emphasized the fair implementation of development projects, the creation of employment opportunities, and respect for the religious rights of the Shia community.

AhlulBayt News Agency: Several prominent Shia scholars and well-known figures from Afghanistan met with Abdul Salam Hanafi, the administrative deputy prime minister of the Taliban government, on Monday. During the meeting, they emphasized the fair implementation of development projects, the creation of employment opportunities, and respect for the religious rights of the Shia community.

These Shia leaders highlighted the lack of basic infrastructure and unemployment in their regions and called for the just distribution of resources and facilities across the country.

Abdul Salam Hanafi welcomed the meeting and stated that the Taliban government is committed to providing services to all citizens without discrimination. He said the government aims to ensure justice and balanced development throughout Afghanistan.

However, it is worth noting that since the return of the Taliban to power, the recognition of the Jafari school of thought (Shia jurisprudence) and the personal status law for Shias has been revoked, and certain religious restrictions have been imposed on the Shia community.

Despite these challenges, Shia community leaders continue to pursue their religious and social rights through dialogue and engagement.
