AhlulBayt News Agency: An independent international human rights organization has strongly condemned recent statements by Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu regarding the demolition of homes in Gaza and the displacement of its population, describing them as a “modern blueprint for ethnic cleansing.”
Netanyahu recently declared that the Tel Aviv regime “will continue destroying homes in Gaza until Palestinians are left without shelter, with no option but to leave.”
The Geneva-based Euro-Mediterranean Human Rights Monitor issued a statement on Sunday, asserting that Netanyahu’s remarks reveal an official acknowledgment of a deliberate effort to uproot an entire population by systematically eradicating their means of survival.
Euro-Med argued that Netanyahu's statements contradict the official justification provided by the Israeli regime for its military campaign against Hamas and other Gaza-based resistance groups. It stated that the true objective is not security but rather the forced displacement of Palestinian civilians.
The organization characterized Netanyahu’s words as a blatant manifestation of ethnic cleansing, openly occurring before the international community. It emphasized that Palestinians are being left with two devastating choices: facing death or enduring forced expulsion.
The rights group further expressed concern that Netanyahu’s primary obstacle is not international law, but rather the logistical challenges of finding nations willing to accept displaced Palestinians.
Euro-Med outlined what it described as a clear roadmap of ongoing violations, stating: “Demolish homes, choke the crossings, terrorize and starve the population—then impose exile as the only path forward.”
The organization asserted that Israel’s policy is not driven by security concerns but rather represents a broader agenda of forced displacement, constituting a crime within the larger framework of genocide, which has persisted for the last 19 months.
The Israeli military resumed its bombardment of Gaza on March 18, killing thousands of Palestinians and injuring many more, following its breach of a two-month ceasefire agreement with Hamas and a deal for the exchange of Israeli captives and Palestinian detainees.
Since October 7, 2023, Israeli military operations have killed at least 52,829 Palestinians, most of whom are women and children, while injuring another 119,554 individuals.
Last November, the International Criminal Court (ICC) issued arrest warrants for Netanyahu and former Israeli minister of military affairs Yoav Gallant, citing war crimes and crimes against humanity in Gaza.
Additionally, Israel faces a genocide case at the International Court of Justice (ICJ) over its military actions in Gaza.
