Zionist envoy blames Muslim immigrants and left-wing movements for anti-Israel sentiment in Germany

Germany and Israel established diplomatic relations in 1965, following decades of historical tensions. Over the years, Germany has become one of Israel’s strongest allies, providing political and economic support. Despite growing European opposition to Israel’s policies, Germany continues to back Tel Aviv diplomatically.

AhlulBayt News Agency – Israel’s ambassador to Germany, Ron Prosor, has described Berlin as Israel’s strongest ally in Europe, praising Germany’s efforts to block EU boycott campaigns against Tel Aviv amid the ongoing war in Gaza.

In an interview published on May 10, Prosor stated, “Despite all criticism, Germany remains our greatest friend in Europe and Israel’s second most important strategic partner after the United States.”

He commended former German Chancellor Olaf Scholz for his unwavering support of Israel’s military operations in Gaza. “Since October 7, the German government under Olaf Scholz has stood firmly with us. The number of German politicians who visited Tel Aviv—including the president, the chancellor, the president of the Bundestag, and ministers—is unmatched by any other European country.”

Prosor also praised Germany’s role in shielding Israel from European boycotts and promoting pro-Israel narratives within EU educational institutions. “Academically, Germany has been instrumental in countering efforts by certain EU countries to boycott Israel.”

When asked about growing anti-Israel sentiment in Germany, Prosor attributed it to the country’s Muslim immigrant population and progressive left-wing movements. “Berlin has always been a hub for anti-establishment movements and multiculturalism. The presence of a large Muslim immigrant community, combined with a strong progressive Left, has contributed to this trend.”

He further accused Germans of ignorance regarding their country’s relationship with Israel, claiming that many do not understand what is best for Germany in terms of its alliance with Tel Aviv.

While several European nations have increasingly supported boycotts against Israel over its treatment of Palestinians, Germany continues to provide political, economic, and diplomatic backing to Tel Aviv. Despite mounting international criticism, Germany remains a key strategic partner, shielding Israel from European sanctions and scrutiny.
