Malaysia condemns Zionist regime at ICJ over Palestinian displacement

The ICJ began hearings on Israel’s obstruction of UNRWA, with Malaysia condemning the Zionist regime’s displacement of Palestinians. Hamas supports the proceedings, urging accountability for crimes against Gaza. UNRWA emphasizes its necessity as tensions escalate in occupied territories.

AhlulBayt News Agency: Malaysia’s representative at the International Court of Justice (ICJ) in The Hague strongly condemned the Zionist regime, describing its actions as aiming for the “displacement and destruction” of Palestinians. This statement was made during ongoing hearings addressing Israel’s obstruction of the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA).

The ICJ sessions began Monday and are set to continue until Friday, with 45 international organizations and countries, including Iran, participating to present their views on the matter. Malaysian representative Azalina Othman, addressing the court, accused the Zionist regime of systematic efforts to deny Palestinians their right to self-determination and to dismantle infrastructure supporting human dignity in occupied territories.

In parallel, Zionist Foreign Minister Eli Cohen dismissed the hearings, accusing the UN and UNRWA of anti-Semitism. Cohen declared Israel’s refusal to participate in the proceedings, further escalating tensions surrounding the investigation.

The Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) welcomed the ICJ hearings, emphasizing their significance in holding Zionist forces accountable for ongoing crimes against Palestinians. Hamas expressed hope for meaningful steps toward justice for the besieged population in Gaza.

Palestinian representative Ammar Hijazi highlighted Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu’s open advocacy for displacing Palestinians and obstructing vital aid deliveries to Gaza. Hijazi called attention to the dire consequences of Israel’s actions, which further threaten Palestinian lands and livelihoods.

The Palestinian Islamic Jihad Movement urged the ICJ to enforce previously issued arrest warrants against Netanyahu and Gallant, stressing that countries failing to comply with this enforcement should be held responsible for complicity.

UNRWA Commissioner-General Philippe Lazzarini emphasized the crucial role of UNRWA in meeting the needs of Palestinians in occupied territories. He advocated for the uninterrupted continuation of its services until a sustainable solution to the refugee crisis is achieved.
