AhlulBayt News Agency: The Committee to Investigate the Causes of the Fire Incident at Shahid Rajaee Port announced on Monday evening that, after holding several meetings with experts across various fields, it concluded that "the failure to observe safety principles and passive defense standards" had been confirmed.
The statement also highlighted certain discrepancies, with security and judicial bodies actively working to identify those responsible.
The committee emphasized that determining the exact cause of the incident necessitates a comprehensive investigation, encompassing technical and laboratory analyses. Despite these requirements, the necessary steps are being pursued without delay, and the final findings will be disclosed to the public as soon as possible, the committee assured.
Earlier today, Interior Minister Eskandar Momeni attributed the massive explosion and subsequent fire to "negligence."
On April 26, 2025, a devastating explosion occurred at Shahid Rajaee Port when a fuel tanker detonated, triggering a large fire. The blaze was eventually extinguished earlier today.
