Saudi leadership expresses solidarity after Bandar Abbas tragedy

The Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, offered his condolences to Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian following the tragic explosion at Shahid Rajaee Port in Bandar Abbas, Iran.

AhlulBayt News Agency: The Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, offered his condolences to Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian following the tragic explosion at Shahid Rajaee Port in Bandar Abbas, Iran.

In a message sent on Sunday, King Salman expressed his sympathies to President Pezeshkian, the bereaved families, and the Iranian people, while wishing a swift recovery for those injured, according to the Saudi Press Agency (SPA).

Crown Prince and Prime Minister Mohammed bin Salman also extended his heartfelt condolences to the Iranian leadership and the victims’ families, affirming solidarity during this difficult time.

The devastating explosion on Saturday caused widespread damage, leading to at least 18 deaths and over 700 injuries, as reported by Reuters. President Pezeshkian has called for a full investigation into the incident, dispatching the Interior Minister to oversee efforts on the ground.

In addition, the Saudi Foreign Ministry conveyed its readiness to assist Iran in managing the aftermath of this tragedy, emphasizing its commitment to cooperation in challenging times.
