Iran's Defense Ministry rejects reports that military cargoes were stored at blast-hit port

A Defense Ministry spokesperson clarified that no military-related import or export shipments were present at Shahid Rajaee Port, the site of a devastating explosion that claimed at least 28 lives.

AhlulBayt News Agency: A Defense Ministry spokesperson clarified that no military-related import or export shipments were present at Shahid Rajaee Port, the site of a devastating explosion that claimed at least 28 lives.

Brigadier General Reza Talaei-Nik refuted claims of military shipments at the port in a Sunday interview, calling such allegations “deliberate misinformation and propaganda” disseminated by foreign outlets.

He emphasized that such propaganda forms part of the psychological warfare waged by adversaries, which has repeatedly failed due to the resilience of the Iranian people.

“Investigations and documented evidence confirm that no military or fuel-related cargo was present in the area impacted by the port fire,” Talaei-Nik affirmed.

The spokesperson stated that the authorities will disclose the primary and secondary causes behind the Shahid Rajaee Port incident at the right moment.

On Saturday afternoon, a powerful explosion followed by a fire shook the southern Iranian port, leaving more than 24 dead, hundreds injured, and causing extensive damage to nearby buildings and vehicles.

Although the cause remains unclear, rescue teams swiftly arrived to extinguish the blaze and provide aid to those affected by the incident.
