Ahlulbayt News Agency: Israeli warplanes bombed the al-Ahli Arab Hospital around midnight local time, rendering the last functioning hospital in northern Gaza non-operational.
The strikes also left critically ill patients on the streets, with at least three patients reported dead after a rushed evacuation.
A local journalist, who was working at the hospital, said the Israeli occupation army had phoned a doctor who was operating in the emergency department and ordered the immediate evacuation of the hospital.
The Israeli military has used its routine justification for putting the last functioning hospital in northern Gaza out of service, claiming that it contained a “command and control center used by Hamas.”
The al-Ahli Hospital is one of 36 hospitals that have been bombed and burned by the Israeli army since the start of the genocidal war on Gaza.
Gaza’s Government Media Office (GMO) said that the Israeli occupation committed a new horrific crime by bombing the al-Ahli Hospital in Gaza City, which accommodated hundreds of patients.
“The hospital, which contains various specialized departments, was serving hundreds of patients, injured people, medical crews and caregivers at the time of the attack. The hospital provides healthcare services for over a million Palestinians in the provinces of Gaza and northern Gaza in the midst of the near-total collapse of the healthcare system due to genocide, blockade and relentless bombardment,” GMO added.
The Hamas Movement, for its part, condemned the Israel army’s bombing of the al-Ahli Hospital in Gaza City, calling it as “part of its ongoing brutal and fascist war crimes in the Gaza Strip.”
“This horrifying crime underscores that we are dealing with a rogue criminal entity that flagrantly disregards humanitarian laws, regulations and norms, operating under American cover and complicity and without any international accountability,” Hamas said in a statement on Sunday.
