International community must take Human Rights violations in Nigeria on Quds Day

Hujjatul Islam Dr. Shafqat Shirazi, Secretary of Foreign Affairs of Majlis Wahdat-e-Muslimeen, stated in his message that the silence of international media over the situation in Nigeria is like rubbing salt on the wounds of those seeking justice.

AhlulBayt News Agency: He explained that on March 30, 2025, during a Quds Day demonstration in Nigeria — held in support of Palestine and against Israeli attacks on Gaza — the army opened fire on peaceful protesters, resulting in 10 people being martyred. Additionally, a large number of protestors were injured and arrested, and there is no information available about their whereabouts.

Dr. Shirazi said that some human rights organizations merely issued statements, but no meaningful action was taken, and the international media completely ignored the incident, which is why it never made it into the mainstream news.

He emphasized that the protesters were peacefully and legally demonstrating, and the military action taken against them was unjustified and completely oppressive. He also expressed deep concern over the silence of international bodies regarding the condition of the injured and detained demonstrators.

In conclusion, he called on all Muslims to speak out against the injustice and violence occurring in Nigeria and to help bring the truth to light.
