AhlulBayt News Agency: The Islamic Center of England hosts Iftar events every year during the holy month of Ramadan.
The center hosts Muslims and fasting individuals from various nationalities during this spiritual event, which is supported by community contributions.
For 30 days throughout the blessed month, every day at sunset, people of different nationalities, ethnicities, and races come together in unity. Before breaking their fast, they stand in prayer, displaying their devotion and worship in one shared language.
In Ramadan, providing Iftar to those who are fasting is a deeply rewarding act of charity.
Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) said, “Whoever gives food for a fasting person to break his fast, he will have a reward like theirs, without that detracting from their reward in the slightest.”
This noble gesture not only brings immense spiritual rewards but also strengthens bonds within the community.
Hojat-ol-Islam Seyed Hashem Mousawi, the Imam of the center, expressed gratitude for the community’s participation in Iftar and Suhoor (pre-dawn) events in Ramadan, saying that the involvement of the people in covering the costs of these meals is worthy of appreciation.
Many believers have made efforts to take advantage of the opportunity for good deeds and charitable contributions during this month, regardless of their means, he noted.
Some people give charity to address worldly problems and needs, while many do so with the intention of earning rewards for the deceased, he noted.
“This benevolent act undoubtedly brings them closer to God spiritually and helps alleviate many of their issues.”
