AhlulBayt News Agency (ABNA): Thousands of Palestinian worshipers performed Friday prayer at al-Aqsa Mosque in Occupied al-Quds, amid strict Israeli security measures at its gates since the morning hours.
The Islamic Endowments Authority reported that nearly 30,000 worshipers performed Friday prayer at the holy shrine despite the very cold weather and Israeli restrictions.
Since the early morning hours, citizens gathered at the Al-Aqsa Mosque, passing through its gates amid large presence by Israeli police forces.
However, many West Bank worshipers were sent back to their cities and towns after Israeli occupation police forces checked their identity cards at the entrances to the Mosque.
A number of women and youths, believed to be from the West Bank, were stopped and searched at Bab al-Amoud, Bab al-Sahira and al-Asbat gates.
They were briefly detained before being released.
Israeli forces also prevented seven buses carrying worshipers from Qalqilya from heading to Al-Aqsa Mosque.
Earlier today, hundreds of Palestinians managed to perform Dawn (Fajr) prayer at al-Aqsa Mosque, despite the Israeli restrictions on Palestinian access to the site.
Since the early hours of dawn, thousands of Palestinians, including women, gathered at the gates of Al-Aqsa, confirming the Palestinians’ spiritual links to the holy site.
Hamas Movement earlier called for intensifying presence at the Palestinian holy site during Fajr prayers in response to the Israeli systematic Judaization policy.
The mass Fajr prayers, the first ones of the day before sunrise, are being held to protest Israeli Judaization schemes at religious sites in the West Bank, mainly al-Aqsa Mosque and the Ibrahimi Mosque.
