AhlulBayt News Agency (ABNA): At the cabinet's meeting on Sunday evening chaired by President Hassan Rouhani, following a report by the Minister of Sports and Youth Affairs on the AFC Champions League and the performance of Persepolis F.C. in west Asia despite some sabotage, the President praised the efforts of the players and coaches of Persepolis and the country's sports officials, who provided the people with enthusiasm and vitality, and wished them success in the final match of the AFC Champions League.
In this meeting, the First Vice President presented a report to the Cabinet on his contact with grand maraji and the representative to Ayatollah Sistani.
Dr Jahangiri conveyed the regards of the grand maraji to the President and expressed their concern about inflation and the people's livelihood problems.
The President stated that the grand maraji have always supported the 11th and 12th governments and have been the intellectual and spiritual support to the government, and said, "Their concern about the economic situation is right and it is due to the popular base of the authority of Shiites".
Dr Rouhani added, "I assure the grand maraji that the government is trying its best to neutralise the evil conspiracies of the enemies aimed at annoying the government and the honourable nation of Iran".
