(AhlulBayt News Agency) - A book in the Portuguese language on reading the Quran was published in Sao Paulo Brazil.
"Teaching the Basics of Quran Reading”, a book written by Farhad Falah in Persian, was translated into Portuguese by Samir al-Haek under the title of "Manual de Recitação do Alcorão”.
It will be distributed among Muslims in Sao Paulo and other parts of Brazil.
It is the first book on teaching the Quran published in Portuguese.
Brazil is a Catholic-majority country in South America where there is no trace of Islamophobia.
Islam in Brazil is said to have first been practiced by African slaves brought from West Africa. Scholars note that Brazil received more enslaved Muslims than anywhere else in the Americas.
Today some one million Muslims live in the country of around 200 people, thus accounting for 0.5 percent of the total population.
Nearly half of them are native Brazilians who have embraced Islam.
