(AhlulBayt News Agency) - Pakistan's Sunni Ittehad Council chief Sahibzada Hamid Raza announced his support to the plan of Majlis-e-Wahdat-e-Muslimeen (biggest Shia religious-political party in Pakistan) to begin a protest movement if renowned Shia scholar Allama Mirza Yousuf Hussain and former Senator Faisal Raza Abidi were not released forthwith.
Nasir Abbas Shirazi, deputy secretary general of the MWM, told reporters at Karachi Press Cub on Sunday evening that his party finalized its plan to formally begin a protest movement if detained Shia Muslim notables and scholars were not released. Flanked by him, Sahibzada Hamid Raza announced his support to the MWM’s warning saying that Saudi embassy in Pakistan was playing a deleterious role against the internal and external policies of Pakistan.
“Dozens of Shia scholars and notables have been detained without any reason. There is no charge against those Shiite Muslims but neither family has been apprised of their whereabouts nor they were produced before any court of law,” said Nasir Shirazi adding that these arbitrary arrests were cent percent illegal and inhuman on part of the security agencies and the government.
Sahibzada Hamid Raza said that Saudi Arabia never backed Kashmiris nor preferred Pakistan to India but Saudi kingdom spread false rumors of Makkah attack to hoodwink Pakistani Muslims against the defenseless oppressed nation of Yemen upon whom Saudi-led military coalition had imposed a unilateral and uncalled for war.
They alerted the federal government, Sindh Government and Punjab Government to beware of the consequences of the bowing to and toeing the line of Saudi monarchy against fellow Pakistanis.
They demanded no to sectarianisation of Pakistan on Saudi lines. They demanded immediate arrest of the terrorists involved in killings of Sunni and Shia Muslims. They demanded immediate release of Shia notables.
