Thousands of worshipers perform Friday prayer at Al-Aqsa

Tens of thousands of Muslim worshipers performed Friday prayer in the holy Al-Aqsa Mosque in Occupied al-Quds amid tight Israeli restrictions.

AhlulBayt News Agency (ABNA): Tens of thousands of Muslim worshipers performed Friday prayer in the holy Al-Aqsa Mosque in Occupied al-Quds amid tight Israeli restrictions.

The Israeli police forces set up dozens of roadblocks, conducted extensive searches and checks on Palestinians and their ID cards, and prevented many of them from reaching the holy Islamic site.

Earlier in the morning, thousands performed dawn prayer at the holy site despite Israeli restrictions.

Since the early hours of dawn, hundreds of Palestinians gathered at the gates of Al-Aqsa to pray, confirming the Palestinians’ spiritual links to the holy site.

During the Friday sermon, Sheikh Ikrema Sabri hailed the efforts made by Muslim scholars who are championing the Al-Quds Global Week that started in the last week of the Islamic month of Rajab in various countries.

“We have to work on protecting al-Quds (Jerusalem) and al-Aqsa Mosque,” he added.

"Palestine belongs only to the Muslims and can never be subject to negotiations and concessions."

Sheikh Sabri also hailed the heroic steadfastness of the residents of Sheikh Jarrah and Jabal Mukaber neighborhoods in face of Israeli occupation authorities and settlers’ atrocities.
