AhlulBayt News Agency (ABNA): A group of 260 young couples from Iranian central cities of Isfahan and Yazd visited the holy shrine of Imam Reza (AS), the eighth Imam of Shia Muslims, to celebrate beginning of life together.
The newly married couples went on a pilgrimage to the holy shrine, where they were received with a warm welcome and flowers from the servants of the shrine. They were then directed to the main venue for the ceremony, Kouthar Portico.
Addressing the young couples, Hoj. Moshiri, a religious expert, elaborated on Qur’anic lifestyle, advising Muslims to follow Qur’anic principles and conducts of Shia Imams (AS) in all aspects of life including marriage, child nurturing, and conjugal life.
“Put Ahl al-Bayt (AS) lifestyle at the center of your life not in the margin and learn from the joy and peacefulness of Imam Ali (AS) and [his wife] Hazrat Zahra (SA),” the expert noted.
Such symbolic wedding ceremonies are hosted by Astan Quds Razavi every month. These ceremonies are organized and held at Hazrat Zahra (SA) and Kouthar Porticos.
Foreign couples can also arrange their marriage ceremonies at Imam Reza’s (AS) holy shrine by contacting the office of non-Iranian pilgrims’ affairs.
